Synopsis
During the Namibian liberation, more than 400 children from Namibia were sent to a boarding school in the German Democratic Republic where they spent eleven years of their life. In this short film, former German Democratic Republic kids (better known as “GDR-children”) speak about themselves, about eleven years of their life in East-Germany, fifteen years in Namibia, about their home country, and about their family. In this documentary, politicians, teachers, formal educators, and adoptive parents from the German Democratic Republic and from Namibia also comment on the political background of this time.
