Synopsis

The African Who Wanted to Fly is a documentary based on the life of Luc Bendza. Bendza, who is originally from a small Gabonese village, had been intrigued with martial from the time that he watched Bruce Lee films as a small child. At the age of 15, he became very skilled in Kung Fu and left Gabon for China to become a world Kung Fu champion. The film documents this transformation, and includes interviews with Bendza’s associates from both Gabon and China. The film is in French and Mandarin with English subtitles.
