Synopsis

This film focuses on one woman's plight in attempting to raise a family in the dry and barren Sahara. There is a heavy emphasis on the environment, vast desert lands, to illustrate the true struggle of survival. Zamiatou is the mother of three children, two boys and a strikingly beautiful girl, and the wife of a handicapped husband. Every day is a constant battle to stay alive. Zamiatou is determined to care for her family without selling her daughter into prostitution.
