Darrell James Roodt
This movie is about a student who is involved with the Soweto Riots. The student is against the implementing Afrikaans as the language taught in schools. The movie takes place during the apartheid in South Africa. The character Sarafina is ashamed of her mothers acceptance of being a domestic servant in a white household. She inspires her peers to protest. This becomes even more prominent when her teacher is imprisoned.
